Finding and replacing text strings across multiple Woodstock sections
Woodstock models are composed of separate, but inter-connected sections that are, by convention, each stored in separate ASCII/ANSI (text-only) files. The default find and replace option operates on a single file at a time, thus it is impossible to search and replace instances of a text string across multiple text files or model sections. However, by temporarily employing a single file model convention, in which all model sections are stored directly within the primary input file, you can easily search and replace text strings across all model sections (version 3.0 and later editions of the editor also include a 'Find in files' option to search and replace text strings across multiple files).
To find and replace text strings across all model sections:
Edit the primary input file.
Convert to a single file model convention by clicking the Tools menu and selecting "Make a single file model".
Use the Find and Replace option to locate and update the text string.
Convert the model back to a multi file model convention.
One last word of advice - backup your data often because your hard drive WILL fail eventually and unexpectedly.
