Educating Youth about Wetlands

Project Webfoot is an elementary school program that teaches the importance wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. Funds will enable students to connect with nature through safe, interactive and inspiring educational content outside the classroom.

Care for Homeless Pets

Assisting homeless individuals in Fredericton with access to affordable grooming, food and necessary Veterinary care for their pets. Funding will enable people to continue to keep their companion animals with them through difficult situations.

Safe Water and Sanitation in Rural Africa +

Safe Water and Sanitation in Rural Africa

Providing a community in Africa with critically needed, safe water and sanitation through the drilling of well, building of a communal washroom at a school, and providing health and hygiene training. This sponsorship saves children’s lives and allows girls to go to school instead of hauling water all day.

Technical Innovation for Non-Profit Organizations

Supporting the work of Civic Tech Fredericton, a group of programmers, data scientists and IT professionals who volunteer to find solutions for non-profit organizations in the community. Funding will support weekly Civic Tech group meetings.

Meeting the Daily Living Challenges of Sight Loss

Supporting the work of the Nashwaaksis Lions Club to help manage the challenges of sight loss. Funding will provide financial support to an individual with vision loss for activities of daily living, including providing clothing, groceries, and household supplies.

Renewing Land Stewardship of Hyla Park Nature Preserve

Hyla Park Nature Preserve, Canada’s first amphibian park, is home to seven of the nine species of frogs and toads that exist in New Brunswick. Funding will support Hyla Park projects, including restoration work by removing invasive species, signage for soil contaminates, frog surveys, and further research for potential restoration work.

Making Outdoor Adventure Accessible for Women

Supporting the mission of the volunteer-run GTFO Adventure Club to build confidence, capacity and community in New Brunswick women through outdoor adventure. Funding will help finance event facility fees to reduce the cost of participation and make events accessible for underserved women in the community.

Promoting Healthy Living through Outdoor Activity

Promoting activity and healthy living by providing support to the Wostawea racing team. Funds will be used to acquire roller skis so the team can train during the off-season, keeping athletes engaged and active in the sport during months when there is no snow.

Supporting Cancer Patients with GIST

Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is a rare life-threatening sarcoma cancer. The mutational testing of a GIST tumour is vital to the care and treatment of GIST patients. Unfortunately, mutational testing is not provided for many patients in Canada. Funds will support three online mutational testing workshops in 2021.

Providing essential supports, services and programs to individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability and their families. Funding will provide one full year of support for six families in New Brunswick.

Strengthening the Health of the FD/MAS Community

Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright syndrome (FD/MAS) is a rare and debilitating disease with no cure. Funds will be used to strengthen the FD/MAS community and increase investment in research and education to meet the needs of those living with the disease.
