ICTC Discovery Forum І Online

Remsoft is among the organizations presenting at the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) Discovery Forum on The Future of Precision Agriculture & Forestry.

Being held on Wednesday, May 26th from 1- 2 pm EDT, the online forum will look at growth opportunities and advanced technologies that are driving Canada’s precision agriculture and forestry sectors.

Two of the great cornerstones of Canada’s GDP are forestry and agriculture. The former contributes up to $25.8 billion, and the latter generates $143 billion, respectively (2018). In recent years, these two sectors have adopted non-traditional technological advances at an incredible pace. These include artificial intelligence (AI), Internet-of-Things (IoT), connected autonomous vehicles (CAV), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and robotics. Applying these breakthroughs to harvesting, surveying, and supply chain logistics has resulted in significant economic and social value. Aptly named Precision Forestry and Smart Agriculture, intellectual property trends reflect exciting diversity in this symbiotic innovation eco-system.

Joining Olivia Lin, Jr. Data Scientist at the ICTC, and subject matter experts from Natural Resources Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Doug Jones, Remsoft Senior Vice President, Solutions and Innovation, will talk about precision forestry and the growing trend to leverage new technologies, data, and analytics to drive efficiency and growth.
