Highlights

Montes del Plata is implementing Remsoft Optimization technology to ensure the optimal allocation of genetic material in nurseries throughout Uruguay.

Montes del Plata, an industrial-forestry company based in Uruguay, is dedicated to the production of eucalyptus cellulose pulp and manages 190,000 hectares of eucalyptus forests across the country. Founded in 2009 by two global forestry leaders, Arauco (Chile) and Stora Enso (Sweden-Finland), Montes del Plata has the capacity to produce up to 20 million seedlings per year.

To maximize soil utilization efficiency and forest productivity, Montes del Plata has adopted industry-leading technology and best practices supported by the Remsoft team in South America. The implementation will ensure the optimal allocation of genetic material in the nurseries throughout Uruguay.

We selected Remsoft because of their expertise, our history of successful collaborations, and the ability to integrate this optimization solution with other projects we’ve worked on together,” stated Martin Arocena, Forest Planning Manager.

Global forestry organizations rely on Remsoft’s optimization software and deep domain knowledge in forestry planning to assess and improve all facets of forest management – balancing priorities, meeting environmental requirements, and ensuring resource sustainability.
