From Manual Tracking to Operational Intelligence: How Chantiers Chibougamau Is Digitizing Forest Operations with Remsoft

Join Chantiers Chibougamau and Remsoft for a practical, customer-led discussion on improving field visibility, reducing manual tracking, and making faster operational decisions across large-scale harvest operations.

Forestry operations are constantly changing. Your field awareness should keep up.

Weather shifts plans. Equipment moves. Road conditions change. Sensitive areas require attention. Production targets evolve.

Yet many forestry operations teams still rely on delayed reports, site visits, phone calls, or fragmented systems to understand what is actually happening across harvest areas.

That delay creates operational uncertainty:

  • Limited awareness across active harvest areas
  • Delays between field activity and operational decisions
  • Contractor coordination challenges
  • Manual reporting and inconsistent operational updates
  • Reduced visibility into productivity, utilization, and field activity
  • Greater risk around boundaries, sensitive areas, and compliance requirements

In this customer-led session, Chantiers Chibougamau will share how they moved from fragmented machine tracking and manual workflows to a more connected, forestry-specific approach to managing operations in the field.

What you'll learn

In this session, we’ll cover:

  • The operational challenge: Why traditional machine tracking and delayed reporting were not enough for large-scale forestry operations.

  • The implementation journey: What pushed Chantiers Chibougamau to change, lessons learned during rollout, and how adoption worked across operations and contractors.

  • What operational awareness changed: How stronger field awareness helped improve coordination, reporting, productivity tracking, and day-to-day decision-making.

  • Beyond machine tracking: How forestry-specific operational workflows support location-based operational intelligence, productivity and utilization tracking, and better coordination across field operations.

  • What’s next: How connected operational awareness is shaping the future of forestry operations.
